Our Alumni

Innovative solutions to ocean conservation requires participation from experts across sectors, which is strongly reflected in our alumni job placement and career trajectories. Masters of Advanced Studies in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation (MAS MBC) alumni are working in high-profile and satisfying careers across the globe addressing the most pressing conservation issues.

Over 60 percent of our graduates find employment in California, while the rest are located in areas such as Washington D.C., Seattle, Florida, and internationally.  Most launch into careers at NGOs, non-profits and state, local or federal governments, while others create their own businesses, lead science communications, or pursue further education.

Additionally, our graduates are widely-recognized and many have received prestigious fellowships including the highly-competitive  California SeaGrant and Knauss Marine Policy Fellowships. 
Since 2013, the MAS MBC program has had at least one alumni placed at California SeaGrant every year!
